Part Four
-Found and Lost-

When the final bell rang, Sora had never been so relieved in his life. He practically ran out of his eighth period class, which had been Home Ec with some weird teacher named Mr. Xaldin. He was a freaky looking guy. Sora secretly wondered if every teacher in the school was that bizarre. He ran out through the large glass doors and sighed in relief, seeing the green grass and students of the front lawn. 'Thank you for..not school!'  Sucking in a content breath, Sora stepped outside and into the warm sunshine. It was nice outside, which was a plus. The spiky haired teen looked around, eyes searching. Where was Roxas? He shrugged and his eyes locked onto a familiar face. Kairi looked up and a bright smile came to her face. "Hey! Sora!"

He quickly walked over and smiled in his most charming way possible. "Hey Kairi! What's up?"

"Just got out a few minutes ago. Now I'm waiting for Riku"  Her blue eyes sparkled with happiness.

Sora nodded, a bit of jealousy coming over him again. 'Riku...that tall..tall....person!' He couldn't even think of a good insult in his mind. Insults were not Sora's thing. He realized he hadn't responded yet and nodded. "That's cool....yeah I'm waiting for Roxas. Brothers..." He shook his head and hid his secret disappointment with a smile.

Kairi laughed, flipping a piece of hair out of her face. "I wouldn't know, I don't have any. Only child. Is Roxas your only sibling?"

The 15 year old nodded. "Yep! Just me n' Rox"

"That must be nice...your never alone"

"Yeah, unless you want to be alone!" He looked around for Roxas again and spotted Riku walking forward, hands in his pockets. He looked so relaxed, so cool.

Kairi smiled and walked forward. "Hey Riku! I've been waiting FOREVER!"

He smirked. "Sorry. I had to talk to the teacher"

Sora took the opportunity. "What'd you do?"

The silver haired 16 year old turned towards Sora, strikingly light eyes flashing. "Oh, I didn't do anything. But...he wants me to do something I'd rather not, and talks to me every day after school about it"

"Oh...what is it?" Sora asked, shrugging.

Riku looked to Kairi a moment and then back. "He wants me to be in the....uh, school play"

Sora smirked and tried not to laugh. "Whoa..yeah I can totally see you in some costume. 'TO BE, or NOT to be! THAT IS THE QUESTION!' " He laughed loudly and Kairi joined in. Riku smirked and chuckled alittle.

"Yeah, exactly."

Footsteps came from behind, and a familiar voice cut the now silent air. "Hey guys...have I missed anything?" Roxas came to stand beside Sora, eyes flashing.

'Oh no...' Sora thought, realizing Roxas had learned of his lie. "Uh, nope! Nothin' , just small talk!" He put his arm around his brother's shoulder and gave an enormous, and rather fake looking, smile.

Riku and Kairi gave confused looks but didn't do anything. "Yeah.." Roxas murmured through clenched teeth.

"Heh...well we'd better go. Bye Sora, nice to meet ya Roxas" Riku said politely, starting to walk away. Kairi followed after him, holding a book tightly in her arms. "See ya guys! Will you walk me home, Riku? Mom will want an excuse for being late."

As the two walked away, Roxas grabbed his brother's blue tie and pulled him close. "WHY?! Why did you lie to Xion! I barely KNOW HER! Why would I want to hang out with her?!"

Sora smiled nervously. "Heh...easy. She looked so sad...it looked like everyone talks about her alot. So I'd thought you'd be nice and hang out"

"UGH! Sora!" Roxas exclaimed, letting go and stomping away. Sora quickly followed, brown hair bouncing around his head. "Aaw, c'mon Rox! You need friends...besides me, of course! Have you talked to anyone else except Axel and her?"
When Roxas didn't reply Sora smirked. "Yep, right again."

The two started down the long street, passing by a few large, business looking buildings, and eventually, the coffee shop. Sora raised his arm but Roxas didn't even have to look. "No.way."   Sora saw his house up the hill and increased his speed. "Hey Roxas! Look! Running backwards!" Sora turned and stuck his tongue out and pointed. "Haha!"

Roxas rolled his eyes and looked up. His dark blue eyes widened. "Sora! Look out!"

"Wh-" Sora's breath escaped him as he fell forward, onto his face, inches from Roxas' feet. He slowly got up, with his brother's help. "What...did I just run into-" He turned around and groaned. A tree stood just behind him. Roxas started laughing so hard he had to hold his stomach.

"Your face! The look on your face when you fell! HAHA!"

Roxas continued to laugh and Sora made angry sounds. A figure suddenly jumped down from the tree, right  inbetween the two. They both jumped back in surprise, making a yelp. "AAH!"  It was...Xion?! The small black haired girl smiled warmly. "Hey guys!" She looked over to Roxas and her eyes brightened.

Sora quickly grabbed Roxas by the shoulders and pushed him towards Xion, blocking his own body. "Xion..o-okay if there's a knife involved...kill Roxas first!"
"Shut up!" Roxas hissed, smacking his brother's arms away.

Xion gave a hurt face but nodded. "Uh...sorry..."

"Xion...why were you in that tree?"  Roxas asked gently, a concerned look on his face. Sora almost gagged.

"Well...sorry but I sit up there when I'm waiting for my ride"
"Why?!" Sora exclaimed, a disturbed look on his face.
"Oh.." Her large blue eyes directed towards her feet. "I don't like just standing out there...it's weird...having people watch you"

Sora was about to say a smart remark about being watched when Roxas lightly smacked his face without looking away from Xion.  "Oh...do you need a ride home? Our dad can-"

"No, no...oh, there it is now!" She looked up, a face of relief on her features. The brothers turned and Sora's jaw dropped. A large, shiny, black limo pulled up to the curb, stopping gently. The back door swung open.

"Hey! C'mon, Xion! We've got shopping to do!"  A feminine voice came from inside. Sora strained to see but Roxas smacked him across the face again.
"OW"

"Oh! Coming Aqua!" Xion smiled and picked up her small blue book bag. "I'll..er...see you guys later! Hey do you guys want to come over some time?"

Sora started saying "Mom doesn't like us hanging out with stalk-"
"Sure, Xion. That'd be great. See you tomorrow!"

The black haired girl's cheeks flushed and she nodded. "Okay! Bye Sora, bye Roxas!"  She quickly stepped inside and closed the door quietly behind her. The fancy limo drove away smoothly and eventually, out of sight.

The two started walking again and Sora growled. "Great. Now we have to hang out with stalker girl!"
Roxas rounded on him. "Sora, SHUT UP. You were the one who set us up with her in the first place! And not to mention she was not stalking us! She's just alittle different." Roxas was absolutely steaming. The two got to the outer gate of their home and opened it, walking up the steps and onto the porch.

"Well jeez, somebody's in love!"
"SHUT UP! I just feel bad for her...no one else talks to her"
"Yeah, whatever" He said with a smirk.
"I swear, when I get you alone I'm going to-...uh.." Roxas trailed off as their mother walked into the room, a large spatula in hand. She smiled and stepped forward.

"Hey boys! How was your first day?!" She did a little jump and Sora smiled. "Good! We made some..uh..friends." Thinking of Xion's 'stalker-ness' made him laugh in his mind. Roxas simply nodded.

"Well that's great!  Your dad and I finally got everything moved into place in the living room....we're making good time! Just a few more boxes and we're done!"

The two walked into the kitchen and saw tons of pots and pans strewn about. Sure enough, their brown haired father was sitting on the floor, trying to make them all fit into a small cubbord. He didn't look too happy when they walked past and up into their room.

The two laid on their separate beds, watching t.v. Roxas diligently did his History homework, while Sora lounged and munched on some chips. The sun was setting, and everything was quiet. True, not as quiet as in twilight town, but it wasn't too loud. The peacefulness was a nice contrast from the loud, bustling school.

Their father suddenly came in, making them both jump alittle. "Hey, sports. Your mom wants us to over and meet the neighbors. You coming?"

"No.." Roxas murmured softly
"YEP!" Sora said, much louder than Roxas.

----

The back lawn was their mother's jewel. They had only been at their new house for two days, but she was already started on her garden. She loved plants almost more than her family. Bags of fertilizer sat around, along with pots of unplanted flowers and herbs. The yard didn't have the typical layout. Instead, they had a nice roomy yard, with a medium sized  Lindon tree in the the right corner.  The family of four walked out into the back yard, their mom holding a pie in her hands. Sora had tried to take some repeatedly, to Roxas' dismay. The tall, white fence greeted them, but it was just tall enough for Sora and Roxas to see over. Three people stood at the other side of the fence, smiling. One was a tall, red haired man with expressive green-blue eyes. The one beside him, his wife, was a long haired brunette with extremely large light blue eyes. And beside her stood someone familiar.

"Kairi!" Sora said, smiling.

She looked up in surprise. "Sora!"

Roxas raised an eyebrow and watched them. 'Hmm..'

"Oh you know each other?! That's great! I made this for you, neighbors!" Their mom said sweetly, holding up the pie, like some old 60s housewife. Kairi's mom looked in surprise and giggled. "Well thank you! But usually WE give the food!" She handed up another pie, which smelled of apples.
Roxas' mouth watered and Sora snickered. "Now, now, Roxy. Don't want to get a sugar rush, now!"
"Shut up" He murmured, staring as the women exchanged pies. The fathers introduced themselves and soon the gate was opened.

"Come on in!" Kairi said, motioning to their nice yard. It was pretty much the same as Sora and Roxas', but they had a small pond in the corner and a sapling in the center.

Pretty soon everyone was sitting around enjoying food and laughter. Even some other neighbors came over, with the exception of the weird guy down the street....everyone had one, what could you do about it? As he sat, Sora suddenly got a text message. Surprised, he opened his thick, old tech phone. 'Who is it?! I don't know this number...' He opened the message and his eyes widened.  "W-What...?"

Roxas licked the remains of his pie and whipped cream off his plate and glanced up. "Huh? What, Sora?"

Sora jumped up and frantically scrambled towards his brother. "Look.." he mumbled, holding up his old phone. Roxas snatched it away and read the message. Once, twice, three times his eyes read over the message but it didn't really..register in his mind. Finally, it slipped out of his hands and fell onto the green grass he sat on. Noticing the strange change in mood, their father looked up.

"Hey..somethin' wrong, boys?"

Sora quickly picked up his phone and ran to his dad. His blue eyes flashed. It read:

Sora, Roxas. Xion and Axel are in the hospital on 34th. It's pretty bad.
                   -Riku

"Xion..and..Axel.." Roxas slowly rose to his feet and looked at the bright orange sky, the sunset illuminating the world around him. "What....."
:XD: cheesy ending, yes? If it wasn't, I would call it a "cliffhanger" of sorts.
